WE Serenity Prayer

Grant US the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things WE can, and the wisdom to know the difference. The Serenity Prayer feels even more powerful in the WE version.

The fellowship in my program is what keeps me coming back. I was powerless over alcohol and my life had become unmanageable, I hated asking for help, masked my emotions with alcohol and suppressed them, and worst of all, I felt alone – how could anyone else possibly have gone through this fucked up situation?

I’m learning to ask for help that is so freely given, learning how to cope with my emotions while sober, learning there is always someone who has also gone through the same fucked up situation and is willing to admit it in these rooms, and give guidance.
