I was reminded of how beautiful the state of Idaho is today. I was awake long before the sun and took a short drive north to a hot spring. The weather was overcast, and deer and elk were everywhere. We were lucky to have the hot spring pool all to ourselves. It rained on us, and it even snowed huge fluffy, light snowflakes for a while.
We had breakfast at the diner in Garden Valley and drove by the cabin we’ll be staying in for the weekend in two weeks. I’m excited to revisit the hot springs and go fishing in the river. I love being able to get out of town and into nature without having to drive far. I was home by 12:30 and spent a lazy afternoon watching movies.
The pork chops with sauteed mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes for dinner was delicious. I have no doubt that I will sleep like a rock tonight. And when my head hits the pillow, I will be grateful for another day in sobriety.
