I really appreciated the Daily Reflection for today. It actually made me chuckle, because I’ve never been one to conform to anything. Mostly because of sheer stubbornness—and what I now know is my disease: addiction.
AA changed that for me. I made the choice, and I continue to choose every day to live by the principles, traditions, and steps of AA, because they saved my life and gave me purpose again.
I have regrets, like we all do, but I’m learning to make peace with them. I’m grateful for my past, because all of it led me to desperation. And it was that desperation that finally brought me to AA.
Today, I can see that what once felt like weakness was really the beginning of my willingness. And I’m thankful for that.
