A friend recently gave me a Fahlo giraffe bracelet. I’m so obsessed with these now I am giddy like a school-girl bitch headed to prom! The proceeds go to protect wildlife and with each bracelet, you get a code to track your very own animal in the wild on their app.
Idol is a female giraffe living in Somali, and I get to watch her movement from her GPS tracker. They also post pictures from cameras in the Somali Giraffe Project’s research area that she lives in. Her name means ‘perfect’ or ‘complete’ in both Somali and Turkish. The website says the trackers usually last 2-3 years depending on how rough the animal is on them. If something tragic happens to your adopted animal in the wild they send you a new code for the same breed of animal. I would be sad, but good to know. The bracelets are beautiful, you can choose from a few different colors they offer. The main bead is of your animal. I will warn you – when you download the app and register your animal they give you a coupon for future purchases. I will soon also have a sea turtle and polar bear to track. THEY WERE ON SALE!!!
Being awake early in the mornings, drinking coffee, writing my journal, reading, and tracking Idol is awesome. I love not being hungover and this time I have by alone to enjoy getting to know myself. Wishing everyone a fantastic Tuesday.
