Said no one ever. But I do have to say that waking up with a clear mind, well-rested, and hangover-free sure makes it a lot easier to get through any day. Especially Mondays. I sat at my desk wondering today if everyone else was hungover or just left their brains at home in weekend mode.
I did leave my lunch on the counter and forgot to turn off the coffee pot this morning but it’s still a huge improvement! I made enough spaghetti last night for dinner to feed a small army so I don’t have to make dinner tonight and while I did get the laundry washed and dried, I have zero fucks to give about folding clothes tonight. Why do we fold laundry and put it away if we are just going to wear the clothes again in the next few days? It’s not the only purpose of having a spare bedroom but I definitely use the bed as a closet for clean clothes more than anything else.
Today my reminder of why I love being sober is the feeling of accomplishment for today. Because just a few months ago I would have struggled really hard to make it through a Monday after binge drinking all weekend. It’s a cold and harsh reminder, but they are needed to keep me on the right path.
