“Don’t Take Yourself So Damn Seriously.” I try to practice humility and make light of most situations. Laughter is good for the soul, and I constantly amaze myself by the ridiculous things I do. Someone is bound to witness them, so I might as well beat them to it and see the humor instead of wasting energy being embarrassed or uncomfortable. It’s easier and feels good to embrace the moments. On the way home from a meeting tonight, we had to look up the meaning of Rule 62 because none of us knew it. It’s a good story if you ever get a chance to look it up.
In other breaking news, tomorrow night there will be a ‘planet parade’ just after sunset. All seven planets will be easily visible and aligned in an arc. We can all get a good look at Uranus! Case in point on the level of ridiculous things I say, do, and think. When I read about this my first thought was “Where the fuck is the eighth planet? Why can’t we see that one? That’s dumb.” It took a few minutes before I realized the answer to my questions, and then I couldn’t stop laughing. Now, I’m sharing so you can laugh as well!
Thursdays are my roommate’s Fridays, and our schedules are opposite; we don’t see each other Monday- Wednesday. I love our Thursday catch-ups, and I unloaded everything on him today, so I don’t have much to write about. He absolutely needs therapy or counseling for Ci PTSD. Rehab together, and now we are roommates. I call him a grumpy old man, even though he’s not old. He’s not even very grumpy anymore either. 🙂
