I didn’t want to do anything today. Honestly, I wanted to stay in bed and be sad. That’s what the old me would’ve done—but I’ve learned that gets me nowhere.
It’s okay to feel sad. It’s okay to sit with those feelings. But I’m also learning that my actions need to line up with the next right thing.
Today, that meant getting my ass out of bed, keeping my mind busy, going to work, going to my alumni meeting, and dropping off a care package for a friend who’s back in rehab there. It sounds simple, but it took everything I had.
It’s not about perfection—it’s about progress. That was even the topic at the alumni meeting tonight: progress, not perfection.
Sometimes the smallest steps feel like the biggest victories. And that’s okay. A win is a win. Keep going.
